Select Cases

In the Depth Stretching workflow you can map existing data on a planned well, a new sidetrack or wellbore section. You already must have imported or created this planned well or wellbore section (see Importing or creating well data). Since a case can only have one active wellbore, for this workflow you first must select or create a target case to connect the target wellbore to.

Upon opening the form, the current 1D Active Case is listed as the Source case, but you can also select another case from the drop-down list.

In the Target case drop-down list, all existing cases are listed plus the option to create a new one. Although you cannot use the existing cases to connect to the new wellbore, you can select an existing case to create a copy. The copied case includes the target wellbore of the existing case, the Zonation Model, Rock Types, and other data created in the 1D Model substrip. The copied case is ready for validation in the 1D Model and wellbore stability substrips and provides an excellent starting point to continue the Depth Stretching workflow.
